Rococo Northpark

There is a two door front entrance and, unfortunately, there is a metal divider between them. This makes the entrance tighter than it needs to be. My scraped knuckles prove the point. Like most restaurants, there is a small area with another pair of doors that actually take you into the restaurant. These two doors do not have a metal divider.

Inside there are two sets of tables that are accessible. However, there is a step up to another area of tables and booths. Since there is an adequate number of accessible tables, it really doesn't matter about the upper level tables. Unless... Rococo often offers live entertainment on the weekends. One Saturday we were dining with friends and we were too close to the band. Oh how I wanted to get into that other area 'cause I had a drummer up my.... well, you get the picture.

There is a takeout door on the outside. But it is up a flight of stairs. I've never seen anything quite like it before. There's an indoor route to the takeout area, but it is up a step.

Now to the bathroom. There is a clear path to the bathrooms. But the door is, like most, heavy. Inside the stall actually has a drain in the middle. You can work around it with practice, but the key word there is practice. The stall door has one of those annoying tapered latches which makes it difficult to close.

There's a concept in the world of the Americans with Disabilities Act that a business should offer alternatives if something isn't as it should be. In this case, the restaurant almost always has a front door opener on hand. If I really had to eat on that upper level, I have no doubt they'd find a way. And we've picked up to go orders at the front of the restaurant. The owner and staff are extremely accommodating.
