Harry Bear's All-American Grill

The parking can be a little tricky, depending on the time of day. This strip mall has two medical facilities in it. One on each side of Harry Bear's. So there are lots of Disabled Parking spots. And lots of patients needing them. We were there from 2 pm to 4 pm and had to park across the parking lot. But we were just trying to save the spots for our guests.

There was a problem with the van accessible spot. The loading zone had a curb on one side. Our guest had to maneuver and re-maneuever. But there was also a great drop off at the front door: a large semicircle ramp. Easy to go up.

The front door was fairly heavy and difficult to open on the outside. It's much easier to navigate going out. But when our quad guest tried to get in it was nearly impossible. Make sure a friend is dining with you.

Inside there is a private room for large parties. That's where we had our "convention". It was tight, but remember we had 5 wheelchairs and two camera crews. So if you're having a birthday party and want to invite grandma and her powerchair, call ahead and reserve the room.

In the regular part of the restaurant there enough accessible tables and I had no problem navigating. And there was a clear path to the ordering counter and to the restrooms. The payment counter was lower and accessible.

The restrooms were difficult for our Wheel Along guests. The restroom doors need to be adjusted for lesser tension. For me, the doors were manageable and there was plenty of room. But since this was the first experience for our Wheel Along guests, the restroom looked and felt smaller than they actually were.

Harry Bear's is great, just don't make it your first trip out in a chair.
