This is a difficult review. On the one hand, almost everything is OK, fine and dandy. But, then, there's this one thing. The ramp.
They had one thing to do. One thing.
This restaurant is elevated. No doubt because of the patio overlooking Lake Hefner. And so the actual front entrance to the restaurant has several steps. No walkers or canes going up those stairs! And so, the ramp.
This ramp goes from the parking area to the elevated side entrance. It is long and it is steep. Maybe it's up to code or maybe not. Either way it takes someone to push your chair. Grandpa on a walker, well.... not gonna happen.
The side entrance is a little difficult to manage and once inside most of the accessible tables are at a lower level reachable by an indoor ramp. I really don't like indoor ramps. Easy to go down when you're hungry and motivated. Not so easy to get up when you're full and nap-ready.
I don't know if there is any solution to the outside ramp. And I really don't know if there could have been any other way to do it during construction. But it's a huge barrier and so we had to tag the restaurant with our Unwelcome Charlie icon.
There is a Disabled Parking spot at the foot of the ramp, but most of the disabled spots are in the large parking area that serves several restaurants. And you have to cross a lot traffic lane. Never my first choice.
